Basic set of metadata extended by the aspect of non-linear content
Deutsche TV-Plattform has extended the basic set of metadata developed in the Smart Media working group to include non-linear content. It is intended to provide market participants with orientation and represents a cross-market understanding of minimum requirements regarding metadata for content distribution, in order to facilitate the exchange of this data and reduce the workload for broadcasters and service providers.
In addition to information on fields such as those for images, descriptive texts, or cast information, the "Basic Set Metadata" also includes, for the first time for the German market, a list of program genres jointly compiled by all broadcasters and platform providers represented in the project.
