Data collection/legal basis of processing

We collect and process your personal data only in compliance with the relevant data protection regulations,

– in particular if the data processing is necessary to fulfil our services to you as a member (e.g. to ensure the functionality of the member area, to process the registration and use of the member area of the Deutsche TV-Plattform in order to provide you with relevant information and services, to create a user account, to provide information on meetings or general information etc. to our members via an e-mail distribution list, to contact our members),

– if we have your consent,

– or it is necessary due to our legitimate interests (i.e. compilation of statistics to improve the services or reach measurements in the case of circumventing anonymisation or security of our online offer).

What data do we collect and process?

This is the personal data that you provide to us in the context of our offers, in particular:

Access data (e.g. user name and password), profile data (e.g. job title, company name, industry, education, contact options, photo), contract data (membership, contact data for processing the contract and communication with users, security measures) or content data (messages, event participations, registration sessions, text entries, photographs, videos).

Data when visiting our website: Every time a user accesses the Deutsche TV-Plattform website, data about this process is temporarily stored and processed in a log file. This data is only evaluated for statistical purposes and to improve the offer and is then deleted. The information (server log files) includes, for example, the type of web browser, the operating system used, the domain name of your internet service provider and the like.

Data during registration: As part of the registration and use of the member area of the Deutsche TV-Plattform, it is necessary for you to provide us with certain personal data: First name, last name, company, e-mail address and, if applicable, first and last name of a companion. For effective registration, we require a valid e-mail address. In order to verify that a registration is actually made by the owner of an e-mail address, we use the „double opt-in“ procedure. For this purpose, we log the registration, the sending of a confirmation email and the receipt of the response requested herewith.

Data on the use of our services: We also offer services where the user can publish his profile data on an online website mediated by the Deutsche TV-Plattform if he expressly consents to this. The data will then only be published to the defined group of users covered by the consent. The user may revoke the consent to the storage and publication of his/her data at any time.

Data for the organisation of internal meetings or external events and functions: We organise internal meetings, but also external events. These events are regularly free of charge. For the planning and processing of the events (registration, organisation, procedure), we process your personal data (title, first name, surname, city, country, e-mail address) as well as all information voluntarily provided during registration (such as title, company, position).

Depending on the type of event, there may be cooperation partners or external service providers to whom we need to transfer your data for the proper implementation of the event.

Data when registering for the newsletter: At various points on the Deutsche TV-Plattform website, users are given the opportunity to subscribe to newsletters on various topics. The dispatch of the newsletter and a possible measurement of success associated with it will only take place if you consent to the processing of your data for this purpose by way of double opt-in. You can revoke your consent at any time.

Deletion or blocking of data

We adhere to the principles of data avoidance and data economy. We therefore only store your personal data for as long as is necessary to achieve the purposes stated here or as stipulated by the various storage periods provided for by law. After the respective purpose has ceased to exist or these periods have expired, the corresponding data is routinely blocked or deleted in accordance with the statutory provisions. You can also revoke your consent at any time with effect for the future. We will then delete your profile and all personal data.

You can exercise the following rights at any time using the contact details provided (e-mail: mail(at)

– Information about your data stored by us and its processing,

– Correction of incorrect personal data,

– deletion of your data stored by us,

– Restriction of data processing if we are not yet allowed to delete your data due to legal obligations,

Cooperation with third parties

The Deutsche TV-Plattform uses service providers to ensure and maintain the technical functionality as well as in the context of editorial work for the members‘ area, contacting and for other additional offers. These include the following categories of contractors: software developers, editors, server hosters. In doing so, we ensure through contracts and controls that data security and data protection are guaranteed at the service providers and that they process the data within the framework of our instructions, that they only use the data to the extent and for the period required, that this is necessary for the provision of the services or to the extent to which they have consented.

If, in the course of our processing, we transfer data to third parties or otherwise grant them access to the data, this will only be done on the basis of legal permission, if you have consented, if a legal obligation provides for this or if we can base this on our legitimate interest.

Integration of third-party offers

Within our online offer, we use content or service offers such as videos or fonts from third-party providers on the basis of our legitimate interests or your consent (opt-in).

Google Maps: We may integrate the maps of the „Google Maps“ service of the provider Google LLC, 1600 Amphitheatre Parkway, Mountain View, CA 94043, USA. The data processed may include, in particular, IP addresses and location data of the users, which, however, are not collected without their consent (usually within the framework of the settings of their mobile devices). The data may be processed in the USA. It is possible for you to deactivate the Google Maps service in a simple manner and thus prevent the transfer of data to Google. To do this, deactivate JavaScript in your browser. The map display can then not be used. You can find Google’s privacy policy at:

YouTube videos: Our website uses components of the YouTube site operated by Google. The operator of the pages is YouTube, LLC, 901 Cherry Ave, San Bruno, CA 94066, USA, represented by Google Ireland Limited („Google“), Gordon House, Barrow Street, Dublin 4, Ireland.

When you visit a page with the YouTube plugin, a connection to YouTube servers is established. This tells Youtube which pages you are visiting. If you are logged into your YouTube account, YouTube can assign your surfing behaviour to you personally. You can prevent this by logging out of your Youtube account first.

We also embed YouTube videos on some of our websites. The operator of the corresponding plugins is YouTube, LLC, 901 Cherry Ave, San Bruno, CA 94066, USA.

With this integration, content from the YouTube website is displayed in parts of a browser window („framing“). YouTube content is only integrated in „extended data protection mode“. This is provided by YouTube and ensures that initially no cookies are stored on your device. However, when you call up the relevant pages, your access data collected when visiting our pages, such as in particular the IP address and browser ID, are transmitted and thus in particular communicated which of our Internet pages you have visited. However, this information cannot be assigned to you unless you are currently logged into YouTube or another Google service. When you start the playback of an embedded video by clicking on it, YouTube only saves cookies on your device through the extended data protection mode, which do not contain any personally identifiable data. These cookies can be prevented by appropriate browser settings and extensions.

Further information on the handling of user data and data protection can be found at: and in Google’s data protection declaration

Use of script libraries (Google Web Fonts): In order to display our content correctly and graphically appealing across browsers, we use script libraries and font libraries such as Google Web Fonts ( on this website. Google Web Fonts are transferred to your browser’s cache to avoid multiple loading. If the browser does not support Google Web Fonts or prevents access, content will be displayed in a standard font.

The privacy policy of the library operator Google can be found here:

Like many other websites, we also use so-called „cookies“. Cookies are small text files that are transferred from a website server to your hard drive. Through this, we automatically receive certain data such as IP address, browser used, operating system and your connection to the internet.

So-called temporary cookies are used when calling up individual pages. They are necessary and serve the technically flawless operation of our website and cannot be deactivated in your systems. These session cookies do not contain any personal data and expire at the end of the session. Techniques such as Java applets or Active-X controls, which make it possible to track the access behaviour of users, are not used. Other cookies, in particular from third-party providers, are only activated and stored on your computer if you expressly give us your consent to do so („opt-in procedure“).

Data security: SSL encryption

To protect the security of your data during transmission, we use state-of-the-art encryption procedures (e.g. SSL) via HTTPS.

Changes to our data protection policy

We reserve the right to adapt this data protection declaration so that it always complies with the current legal requirements or in order to implement changes to our services in the data protection declaration, e.g. when introducing new services. The new data protection statement will then apply to your next visit.

You can access and print out the current data protection statement at any time on the website at
